Hi there! I'm Ze Kai, a 21-year-old undergraduate at the National University of Singapore, pursuing a Bachelor of Computing in Computer Science. I am a self-driven individual and an independent learner with a strong interest in programming. I deeply enjoy problem-solving and collaborating with others to create solutions and products that would benefit society as a whole.


I decided to create this simple portfolio while contemplating what to do for my CS50x final project, and I had a blast doing so :)

Recently, I acquired a Fujifilm X100V, and I've been taking my time to enjoy the process of delving deeper into the intricate world of photography. I've been thoroughly enjoying myself, and I hardly go anywhere without my camera now!

Life

Since the tender age of five, I've been playing table tennis. I reached a skill level that allowed me to join the Singapore Junior Development Squad during primary school. Subsequently, I secured admission to Hwa Chong Institution through Direct School Admission via table tennis, which was where I studied from 2016 to 2021.

In 2022, I enlisted in the military for my compulsory two-year National Service, and I ended up as an armament technician for the 9th Army Maintenance Base. As a member of the Forward Maintenance Platoon, our duty was to support the frontlines, primarily the infantry. Life was challenging, and we even participated in Exercise Wallaby, where I created both fond memories and some not-so-good ones.

After becoming operationally ready, I've been enjoying myself by going on overseas trips and spending time with friends! Additionally, I've been trying to find a pre-u internship while undertaking courses such as Harvard's CS50 AI, as a means to refresh and learn new coding knowledge.

  • Maintained, diagnosed & repaired Terrex & Belrex fleets for the 2nd Singapore Infantry Regiment, while providing support during field missions in Singapore & at Exercise Wallaby
  • Utilised interpersonal & communicative skills to constantly liaise with combat personnel & technicians

I built a responsive and visually appealing site that showcases my photography, incorporating the LightGallery JS library to create a dynamic, interactive photo viewing experience, allowing visitors to explore my images in a sleek, fullscreen lightbox.
